On May 9, Livzon Pharmaceutical Group Inc. (SZSE: 000513; HKEX: 01513) announced that Aripiprazole Microspheres for Injection (trade name: Aliwei®), independently developed by the company, has obtained official marketing approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China for the treatment of schizophrenia in adult patients.

As an achievement of the National Major New Drug Creation Program, this product is not only the world’s first aripiprazole microsphere formulation and China’s first self‑developed long‑acting aripiprazole dosage form, but also currently the microsphere product with the longest dosing interval (once‑monthly injection) in the global schizophrenia treatment landscape.
